Team Volkswagen are soon to launch their new SUV ....itz the Tiguan...


The Tiguan is 4x4 compact SUV which Volkswagen plan to launch in the year 2008. The Tiguan claims to be a challenge for Land Rover Freelander & BMW’s X3...


The Tiguan is a Concept-A Off-roader which was seen previously at the Detroit Motor show in the early months of this year.


Puzzled about its name..well it was chosen by around 350,000 readers of a German magazine when asked to choose from a list of five names.


The name "Tiguan" is a made-up combination of "tiger" and "iguana."


The power carried by this offroader is 200 Horsepower for the base versions with a 2.0 litre engine four cylinder engine..turbocharged may i be specific..which CAN be upgraded to 3.6 litre V6 engine..interesting ehh!


Although European versions will have a manual transmission as standard, U.S. versions will get a six-speed Direct Shift Gearbox as the sole option...


Coming to suspensions...the Tiguan is proposed to have adjustable suspension with three levels..

Volkswagen will offer the SUV – and this for the first time worldwide – exclusively with turbocharged direct injection engines. This “high-performance turbocharging” significantly reduces fuel






Coming to Passat...



The Volkswagen Passat is a family car built by Volkswagen , produced in various forms since 1973..

BUT.....
Even with that chrome grill and incongruous V6 in the model line-up, we always knew that the Volkswagen Passat was a bit boring at heart.
And now the big VW has proved its true colours. It's not just boring, it's a caravanner.
The Passat Estate has beaten off stiff competition to be voted Towcar of the Year 2007.
Apparently the Passat was subjected to a rigorous testing programme before being awarded the title.
Although the details of this test are unclear, we must assume that the 'idling down the outside lane of the A30 at 30mph with a two-mile queue of traffic behind' challenge, the 'how many miles can you cover before realising that you forgot to hitch your caravan onto the towbar back at the trailer park' exam and, of course, the 'most ridiculous wing mirror extensions' shootout all formed part of the curriculum.
On a serious note, we hope - as will anyone who saw the 'Top Gear Goes Camping' episode a couple of series back - that the examiners saw fit to test the fireproof qualities of the Passat. It's a dangerous business, this camping lark.
